Update: Beyond the Gates of "Brothers" – When Professional Bliss Meets a Flat Tire

This update is directly connected to my previous post, From the Shadow of Necessity to the Gates of "Brothers". I highly recommend reading it first to fully understand the story and the evolution of this journey.

When Professional Bliss Meets a Flat Tire

So, there I was this morning, February 25th, looking like a million bucks. I woke up, splashed some water on my face, and put on my crisp, white shirt—the universal symbol of "I’m professional and I’ve got my life together." I hopped on my bicycle and rode to the 10:00 AM interview.

And honestly? I crushed it. I was in the zone, answering safety questions and holding a conversation so smooth I felt like the job was already mine. Despite the crowd of candidates fighting for one spot, I walked out of that building feeling like a champion.

Then, the Universe decided I needed a reality check. A big one.

Right in the middle of the intersection—BAM! Total flat. And not just a leak, but a full-blown mutiny. The back wheel, the tube, and the tire all decided they didn’t want to be part of the rim anymore.

One minute I’m a high-flying job candidate, the next I’m on my knees in the dirt, wrestling with a rebellious tire and trying to shove everything back into place in the middle of the street. The result? My hands are now covered in thick, black grease—the kind that feels like it’s permanent. And that white shirt? Let's just say it now has a "custom" grease-stain design that definitely wasn't in the fashion catalog.

I went from "Ready to be Hired" to "Ready for a Power Washer" in under sixty seconds. My bicycle and I have officially swapped roles: I used to ride it, now I’m the one carrying it home like a trophy of my own misfortune.

It’s the perfect snapshot of today: professional bliss meets mechanical misery. Now, I’m just waiting to see what happens first: a call from the employer or me actually finding the motivation to go back out there and fix that mess of a wheel. Right now, the bike is winning, and I'm just looking at it, waiting for it to fix itself.

I have a question for you all: Have you ever had a "perfect" day turn into a total disaster the second you stepped out of an interview? Does a flat tire and a ruined white shirt mean I’m "rolling" into a new career, or is the universe just telling me I should have walked?
