Spring, The Interview, and the Art of Forgetting Yourself

Have you ever wondered if the seasons care about our human chaos?

Tomorrow at 10:00, I have an appointment with my future—an interview that has my mind racing through names of kings, prime ministers, and safety regulations. I went out searching for an escape, a way to silence the noise before the big day. I was looking for relaxation, but instead, I found a mirror.

Walking past the old stone of the War Memorial in Worksop, I was struck by a quiet rebellion. While I am busy worrying about "making it," the ground has already decided it’s time to live.

The Silent Awakening

The earth doesn't ask for permission to bloom,

It doesn't care about my interview in a quiet room.

I carry the weight of tomorrow, heavy and cold,

While these petals just break through the mold.

It’s a strange comfort, a melancholy sight,

To see life waking up, dressed in purple and white.

I came here to hide from the pressure I feel,

But the flowers reminded me of what is actually real.

I am a son of the summer, a man who lives for the heat and the burning sun. That is where I truly belong. But today, these first signs of spring caught me off guard. They reminded me that even when we are anxious about the next step, life is already happening right under our feet.

What about you?

My heart stays with the summer, but I want to know: which season reflects your soul the best? Do you find yourself in the bloom of spring or the fire of the sun?
