Between the Sunrise of the Eyes and the Sunset of Dreams: The Mirror of Tangled Thoughts

The Mirror of Tangled Thoughts

Sometimes, life plays games with your memories. You find yourself searching for a line from a movie, wavering between the bohemian freedom of Jack from Titanic and the survival strategy of Aladdin. "When you have nothing, you have to pretend it’s all yours," the latter said. And how much truth is hidden behind that mask of confidence when you are in a new place, trying to find your balance!

Switching to the night shift has flipped my universe upside down, but it has also given me a rare privilege: being a witness to nature’s full performance. I see the sunset as I leave for a job and the sunrise when I return, while the rest of the world is just beginning to stir in their sheets. It is a time for introspection, an infinite flow of thoughts, promises, and memories passing through the mind like an overflowing river. From my experiences as a community leader back in 2014 to the stillness I find now, watching a documentary about our planet, everything is connected.

We are like human processors trying to manage millions of ideas simultaneously. But the beauty isn’t in counting them; it’s in stopping, even for just a moment, to smell a single flower in this vast field of our consciousness. Even when exhaustion weighs us down, that spark of curiosity remains, making us wonder who we truly are beneath all these layers of thought.

How do you find your peace when your mind becomes a noisy blend of memories and plans?
